5 Things You Don’t Know About Me
- I know all the words from the movie Storm of the Century. I could quote the movie from beginning to end at any time.
- I am a huge Monkee’s fan. At one time, I had every tape and memorized every episode. Hey, hey, we’re the Monkee’s…
- I am more lonely than any one person should be.
- I never went to prom or homecoming. I regret that now.
- I have a tattoo on my lower back. It was a whim a long time ago.
5 Things I’m Knowledgeable About
- Parenting. While I’ll never claim to be an expert, I’ve raised 6 children. Granted, 2 of them are still under 10, but the list of things I’ve not yet been through with my kids is pretty small. And they’re all still alive. And so am I.
- Health. I’ve been a registered nurse for 17 years. I know lots and lots about medicine and health. I really ought to practice more of it.
- Stephen King. I’ve been a HUGE fan since I was very little. I’ve read every book more than once and have seen every movie – good and bad.
- Ghost Adventures. I’ve watched every episode multiple times. I’ve seen the documentary. I’ve read Zak’s book. I follow them on facebook and twitter. Yeah, I’m obsessed.
- Organization. It takes a great deal of organization to be able to raise 6 kids, work full time, and manage a home. Even now that I don’t work, I still have to be organized.
5 Things I Know Nothing About
- Football. I’ve tried and tried, but I just don’t get it. My husband watches football a lot and I just have to read or do something else. It’s a game I just can’t enjoy.
- Cars. I don’t know how they work. I can’t fix them when they break. I don’t know how to change the oil. I’m not even sure about airing up the tires.
- NASCAR. I just don’t get this either and my husband is a huge fan. I don’t see the attraction.
- Carpentry. I sure wish I did, though. It would be so handy to be able to fix things around the house when they break or remodel, etc. My husband doesn’t know a thing either.
- Politics. I know I should, I really do. I just don’t care. I see politicians as all full of it. Maybe I shouldn’t, but I do.
5 Things I Believe
- I believe that what goes around, comes around.
- I believe that good things come to those who wait.
- I believe that everything happens for a reason.
- I believe that actions speak louder than words.
- I believe that honesty is the best policy.

I’m totally with you on your 5 Things you Believe! And I’m a fan of Stephen King too, got most of his books as well!

Stephen King is absolutely the best! At least in my opinion.
I love lists like this and should do more of them on my blog. It is so nice to get to know you a little better. Becoming disabled myself in recent years, I understand how lonely it can become. Especially after so much interaction with people at work over the years. I will gladly chat with you anytime my friend!

I think that’s one of the biggest reasons I’m lonely. For all of my working career, I would hang out or socialize with my coworkers. Once I stopped working, all my coworkers just drifted away. I never kidded myself that they were real friends, but it’s still hard to not have anyone to talk to. But I’m hanging in there =)
I also don’t know anything about the 5 things you don’t know about. What’s sad about the football, though, is that I was a band geek all 3 years of high school (thus, I had to go to the football games for marching band) and my dad has been a football referee my entire life. So you’d think I know more than I do. But I don’t. Although I do know a little bit about NASCAR because of the movie “Cars” (one of my faves). I feel the same way about politics. I just don’t understand it and most politicians seem full of it. And I feel bad about not understanding it.
Loved the post. Between you and another blog I follow who also takes part in Mama Kat’s writing prompts, I’m thinking of using some of these. My posts these days are almost all TV recaps and I’m wondering if my followers are liking these daily multiple posts.
I would really recommend the writing prompts. They are fun to try and write for. And most are not as easy as they appear!
There is something about these kind of posts that I find so endearing. I just love finding out those little things that really give you insight into a person’s heart and soul. Thanks for sharing!

You’re welcome! It was fun to write – but a lot harder than I originally thought it would be.
It’s fun to get to know you a little better. Though I’m sorry you’re lonely.
Organization is one of my biggest struggles! I need to get that mastered soon, but it doesn’t come very naturally.

I don’t know what I’d do without being so organized. I’m sure with this many kids, I’d just lose it totally lol.
I love these lists too! I also love your five things you believe in, I knew there was a reason we are blogging friends!
I don’t know anything about the Storm of the Century, and I don’t think I ‘ve read anything by Stephen King, though I can’t be sure because I have no memory left!
I hate that you are so lonely. I think it’s a feeling more women know than would be brave enough to admit. Much love to you!!

I’m glad you liked the post!
I saw one Ghost Adventures and loved it but haven’t seen it since. I know way less about politics than I should too. I wish I knew how to do carpentry stuff too as it would be fun to make things for the house
I just love Ghost Adventures! You should definitely watch some more of them. Zak is a little over the top, but it’s entertaining to watch =)
HA! You’re just like me. I know nothing about cars as well yet my husband is always asking me to come out & help him work on his. I’m like DOOD!!
Evil hubby…

No kidding! When my husband says something like that, I just roll my eyes lol.
5 things you believe- I can’t agree more. How true!
Btw, I believe that you are an expert in parenting. Every mom is an expert in parenting her children, and you being such a awesomely powerful lady, I have no second thought on that!..

Aww…thank you so much!! I am so glad I met you!
Grat post! Great way to get to know you better.
Thanks!
Totally with you on 5 things I believe. I’m glad to hear you are organized wink, wink!
The football is funny, because I grew up with it with my Dad and all of my brothers playing and breathing it, and one brother was even drafted into the NFL. I used to get really tired of it though. Whenever I’ve played that football game thing at a sports bar on the TV screen, I can call all of the plays and win…it’s weird. It’s subconsciously built in or something.
Your Zak obsession makes me giggle;)

Yep, I’m very organized – that’ll come in handy!!
My Zak obsession makes me feel like a teenager again lol!!!
So great to get to know you better, my friend. You are a very strong lady to do what you do each day! I know nothing about 4 of your 5…I know a bit about one. And it’s not football

. It was a lot harder to come up with all those 5 things than I thought it would be!
I love your lists. Especially of 5 things you believe. Those 5 are in my top 10 as well.
Thank you!
I commend you on being a mother of 6! I have two boys and I think it’s so funny you said they’re all still alive an you are too! Really enjoyed this post and I’m consider trying something similar
It was harder than it seemed to come up with all those things, but so much fun. I recommend you try it =)
