Thankful Thursday 1/19/12

I can’t believe it’s Thursday again! It feels like the last week has just flown by. Being busy sure makes time pass faster!

  1. I am thankful I seem to have my thrush back under control. I have a lot of horrible side effects from all the prednisone, but thrush has got to be the most annoying one. It’s a constant battle, but right now I’m in winning.
  2. I am thankful the report cards for all children were awesome. Drama is on honor roll – she’s quite proud and so am I!
  3. I am thankful that Marine and Feather moved from one rental house to another, better rental house. A real estate agent was trying to talk him into buying a house – and momma didn’t think that was a very good idea for someone just starting out, deploying in 4 months, and only stationed in North Carolina until they decide to send him somewhere else. Thankfully, he listened to me.
  4. I am thankful I had an awesome lunch with my sister this week. I always love getting together with her.
  5. I am thankful that today I don’t have any errands to run. I have been so busy all week that what I really, really need is a quiet day to myself to relax and catch up on things around here.
  6. I am thankful for Adele. Damn, her voice is awesome and listening to her or watching her sing just makes me happy. I guess I sort of live under a rock because I wasn’t really aware of her until this past week.
  7. I am thankful for making the decision to let my dog Max inside. Over the weekend it was below 0 and I just couldn’t stand it. Max is a German Shepherd and weighs over 100 lbs. He also has issues with being able to hold his urine when asleep and a disease called Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency that basically causes him to have diarrhea/loose stools multiple times a day – so he’s been an outside dog. But I’m working with him and he’s doing really, really well.

Max doesn't like having his picture taken!

  8. I am thankful that on Wednesday, January 18th, from 5:45 pm until 8:30 pm, my 3 youngest children played the Wii together and there was no fighting. There has never been no fighting with those 3 for more than a few minutes. Ever. I am stunned beyond belief.
  9. I am thankful for my warm, snuggly down comforter on nights when it’s freezing outside. My favorite time of the day is snuggling up under my blanket and getting all cozy and warm.
  10. I am thankful for my newest addiction – gas station, triple extreme, mocha cappuccino. Just what I needed was another high-calorie addiction.

    • You need to!! I know it sounds cheesy, but it really helps to keep your outlook positive. I spend my week trying to think about the good stuff so I have something to write about on Thursday…keeps me from dwelling on the negative.

  3. As always I loved your thankful Thursday! Great stuff to be thankful for. How cool that three kids were playing and not fighting!! Wow!! I also think it’s very cool that Marine listened to you!! And, great report cards all around, I think you should play the lottery!! Love you my friend!!

  4. Yay for good report cards! Congrats to Drama on getting the honor roll! I was on the honor roll constantly in school and even a few times in college. It’s a great feeling :)

    • He is a doll, he really is. He’s just so big and has so many issues that are not good for my house. But, surprisingly, we haven’t had ANY accidents in the last 3 days. I think we’re getting into a routine and he’s behaving because he doesn’t want to go back outside. I just feel so much better not having to think about him outside in the freezing weather!

  8. I feel the same way about Adele. Yeah for the good report cards.

  13. Sounds like you had an excellent week! I also love my comforter. I love it when the window is open and the cold breeze is blowing in, and I’m all snuggled inside my blankets. Best way to sleep :)

    • Oh, I agree totally! I haven’t had the window open lately, but I keep it cold in my room. I just love to be all warm under my blanket, but the cool air from the fans blowing on me. I can’t wait until it’s window open weather again!

  14. This is a nice post, I love looking at the positives and being grateful. :) Thanks for sharing.

  15. Glad your kiddos got along for a while! And that your oldest found a place to live. :)

  16. Excellent advice on the house thing. Of course it’s a great time to buy, but if you have to sell it quickly, no way! I didn’t know you had a dog too. How do you do take care of everything!…amazing:) Funny that they didn’t fight;)

    • LOL, I actually have 2 dogs and a cat – all inside, so there’s lots of daily maintenance lol!! I love my animals, sometimes more than my kids although the animals can fight, too haha.

  17. I love it when the kids get along. My two youngest (6 and 11) seem to antagonize each other. Fun.

I know what you mean about the sweet treat battle. It’s always there. *sigh*

I totally understand your gas station capuccino addiction. I have the same problem except I do 1/4 capuccino (cake batter or cinnamon roll) and 3/4 hot chocolate. Yummy!
